The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team returns home to face the No. 5 Florida Gators at noon on Saturday at Gettler Stadium. The contest will be available to watch via ESPN+.

CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team returns home to face the No. 5 Florida Gators at noon on Saturday at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats currently hold an 8-7 overall record and are looking for their first win in Big 12 play. Florida (11-2, 3-0 Big 12) arrives in Cincinnati on a nine-game winning streak after a narrow 12-11 victory over Jacksonville. 

The contest will be available to watch via ESPN+.

// QB1: SELHORN’S OFFENSIVE REIGN
Sophomore Paige Selhorn continues to establish herself as one of the premier offensive threats in the nation. The Westbury, N.Y., native sits fifth in the country in total points with 88 and ranks 11th nationally in assists with 42. Within the Big 12, she leads the conference in points per game at 5.9 and ranks second in assists per game. In just her second season, Selhorn has already accumulated 153 career points, which is the fifth-most in program history.

// DOMINATING THE DRAW
Sophomore Morgan Handzel has transformed the Cincinnati draw unit into one of the elite groups in the country. Handzel has totaled 145 draw controls this season, and her 9.67 draws per game rank eighth nationally. On March 8, she delivered a historic performance by tying the NCAA single-game record with 24 draw controls against Eastern Michigan. As a team, the Bearcats post a .595 draw percentage that ranks 19th in the country and second in the Big 12.

// LAST TIME OUT
Cincinnati fell 10-5 to #15 Colorado this past Saturday at Prentup Field. Senior Lexie Wolfe led the Bearcats with a hat trick and an assist, while Selhorn added a goal and three assists to surpass the 150-career point milestone. Despite cutting the deficit to three goals in the fourth period, the Bearcats could not overcome a 36-13 shot advantage held by the Buffaloes. Goalkeepers Emma Mielke and Bella Kerr combined for 13 saves in the defensive effort.

// FLORIDA EXTENDS STREAK
Florida moved to 12-2 on the season following a 12-11 win over Jacksonville, marking their 10th consecutive season with a winning streak of at least nine games. Head Coach Amanda O’Leary recently moved into sole possession of third place on the NCAA Division I all-time wins list with 434 career victories. The Gators' offense is currently led by Clark Hamilton, who has netted 51 goals this season. Frannie Hahn has been the primary playmaker, recording 18 points over her last three games to lead the team with 29 assists.

// GATOR DEFENSE AND MILESTONES
The Gators' defense is anchored by Theresa Bragg, who leads the team with 14 forced turnovers. In goal, Maya Soskin and Susan Radebaugh have shared time, with Radebaugh posting a .547 save percentage. Senior Kaitlyn Davies enters the game with 97 career points, sitting just three points away from becoming the 28th player to join the Florida 100-point club. Florida currently holds a perfect 34-0 record against teams currently in the Big 12.

Florida has won all 14 previous meetings while averaging over 19 goals per game against Cincinnati.
