CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati track and field program is excited for another edition of the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.

Friday's slate takes place exclusively at Coy Field for the javelin and hammer throw, beginning at 10:30 a.m. and finishing at 4 p.m.

Saturday's action starts at 10 a.m. and concludes with the 4x400 relays at 5:50 p.m., all at Gettler Stadium.

Senior recognitions begin at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, featuring 11 women and seven men. There will also be 100-meter races for UC students and children aged 4-12 at 11:50 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Cincinnati opened its outdoor season last weekend at N.C. State's Raleigh Relays, where Abby Sewell, Claire Curtsinger and Orry Willems each set school records (the latter two breaking their own in the process). Seven others moved up or into the top-10 of the school's record books.

WHO WAS OLIVER NIKOLOFF?
This weekend's meet is named for former Bearcats coach Oliver M. Nikoloff, whom dedicated 42 years of service to UC as both a teacher and coach, including the track & field, tennis and soccer programs. Joining UC in 1917 and plying his trade through the 1959 academic year, much of the program's record book was filled with his athletes' names. A 1912 graduate of Oberlin College, Nikoloff was a standout athlete, excelling in both basketball and tennis. Coach Nikoloff passed away in 1964.

ELSEWHERE
Ade Lloyd, Ethan Long, Kya Epps, Davenae Fagan, Camden Beatty, Romaro Knight and Macaela Walker are all representing the Bearcats at the Texas Relays.

Another star-studded group features Seth Elking and Nickson Kogei out west at the Stanford Invitational, competing in the 10,000-meter.
