The University of Cincinnati track and field teams wrapped up the first day of the Jim Green Invitational on Saturday at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Cincinnati track and field teams wrapped up the first day of the Jim Green Invitational on Saturday at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex.

Gwen Stare led the way for the Bearcats, claiming victory in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:23.52. Seth Elking followed suit on the men's side, finishing second in 3:48.77.

In the 400m hurdles, Macaela Walker earned a runner-up finish, clocking in at 58.46, while Romero placed fifth on the men's side at 52.53.

Ethan Long rounded out the running highlights with a ninth-place finish in the men's 200m, crossing the line at 21.09. Ben Fiser added a fifth-place throw of 57.52m in the men's hammer.

Cincinnati returns to action Sunday for the second and final day of the Jim Green Invitational. Field events begin at 12 p.m. ET, with discus, shot put and high jump all getting underway simultaneously. Juliette Laracuente-Huebner, Annika Kinley and Macaria Moore will look to build on the women's high jump team's early success. Running events follow at 12:40 p.m. ET, with competition concluding around 4 p.m. ET with the 4x400m relay on both the men's and women's sides.
