Bearcats Tied for 10th after First Round of NCAA Bryan Regional

The Cincinnati men’s golf team sits in a tie for 10th at 7-over-par after the first round of the NCAA Bryan Regional at Traditions Club. The Bearcats’ second-round tee times will start at 9:25 a.m. ET Tuesday.

BRYAN, Texas – The Cincinnati men’s golf team sits in a tie for 10th at 7-over-par after the first round of the NCAA Bryan Regional at Traditions Club. With expected inclement weather Wednesday, tee times have been pushed up with the hopes of completing the final 36 holes, Tuesday. Bearcats' tee times will start at 9:25 a.m. ET Tuesday.

After three rounds, the low five teams and low individual from each region will qualify for a spot in the championship finals. Thirty teams and six individuals in total will compete in the finals May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.

Results

With the Bearcats starting on the 10th hole Monday morning, senior Connor McNeely was first off and birdied the par-5 15th on his way to a clean 1-under 35 front nine. He notched another birdie against two bogeys on his second nine on his way to an even-par 72 and a tie for 24th place. Sophomore Leo Wessel is a shot back in a tie for 36th after carding a team-high four birdies against three bogeys and a double.

Senior Ryan Ford is tied for 44th at 2-over, carding a birdie against two bogeys on each nine, while freshman Brayden Miller and sophomore Connor Cassano round out the Bearcats’ lineup in a tie for 52nd at 4-over.

As a team, Cincinnati tied for third in the 14-team field with 58 pars, while McNeely’s 14 pars tied for fourth.
