- Played for the Cincinnati Steam of the Great Lakes League.
- Collected a win and a save in eight games; held a 5.73 ERA and struck out eight in 11 innings.
2007 Season (Freshman):
- Made 12 appearances out of the bullpen, totaling 10.0 innings.
- Recorded an ERA of 2.70, while striking out five.
- Had top outing of season at Rutgers (5/5), allowing just one hit and striking out three in 2.1 innings.
High School: Named to the Cincinnati Enquirer all-city team as a senior at Elder High ... hit .385 as a senior with 35 runs scored and 23 stolen bases ... had a 0.00 ERA and five saves as a relief pitcher ... earned first team All-GCL honors as a senior ... helped team to a conference championship in 2006.
Personal: Born Nov. 2, 1987 ... son of Mark and Melissa Thompson ... son of Mark and Melissa Thompson ... father played baseball at UC, hurling a no-hitter in 1982 and is the varsity baseball coach at Elder High.
