Chaz Calloway joined the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics in 2016 and currently serves as an assistant director for Olympic sports performance.
He works primarily with baseball, cross country, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and the sprinters from the track and field squads.
Calloway moved into his current role at UC near the end of 2017 after starting as a volunteer strength intern with the football team in 2016 and later working with baseball, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s golf, lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, track and field along with volleyball.
He was elevated to full-time intern starting 2017 and worked with men’s soccer and cheerleading while assisting with all other Olympic sports. He took on the role of internship directory in 2018 and oversees the Olympic sports intern development program.
Prior to joining UC, Calloway served roles at Xavier University, Mount St. Joseph University and Hughes High School.
He has two degrees from UC, earning a bachelor’s degree in sports administration in 2014 and a master’s in exercise science in 2017.
Calloway is a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 certified coach.
