Niemeyer, a two-time winner of the Collegiate Sports Video Association's American Athletic Conference Football Video Coordinator of the Year Award in 2017 and 2019, joined the football staff in 2012 as the assistant director of football video. He started his career as a student video assistant in 2007 and later served as a graduate assistant before ascending to a full-time role. He was promoted to director of football video in 2014.
He is responsible for video, computers and technology for the football coaching staff, including capturing games and practices, opponent video exchange, self-scout and opponent breakdowns, and video cut-ups used as a teaching tool. He also manages football's video network and library. Niemeyer oversees a staff of nine student assistants, who are integral in the day-to-day operations of the video office.
Niemeyer earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from UC's College of Arts and Sciences in 2011 and a master's degree in communication in 2013.
During the racing season, he assists FOX 19 with their NASCAR coverage, also providing commentary to several website.
Niemeyer, an Elder HS grad, and his wife Laura live in Cincinnati.
