TicketsPrior to UC: Gurko attended the University of Akron, running all four years for them. She placed fifth in the MAC championships in the DMR and placed eighth in the Steeplechase as a senior. She was also an Academic All-Mac from 2020 to 2022. Elizabeth “Liz” Gurko attended Nordonia High School in Macedonia, Ohio. Gurko had a decorated high school career. She is a 4x Ohio State qualifier in track and twice in cross country. At states she placed fifth in the 4x800 relay as a freshman. As a junior and senior, she placed third in the 4x400m relay. She also holds the record for her high school in the 4x800 relay, 1,600m, 4x1,600, and the 4x400m relay.
