Aaron Himmler

Aaron Himmler was promoted to his current role of Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine in June 2023. 

In addition to serving as the head athletic trainer for the football program, he leads UC's sports medicine and athletic training department, including 13 athletic trainers, a physical therapist and two physical therapy residents. 
 
Himmler enters his 11th year at UC and his eighth year as the athletic trainer for football. 
 
He is also the current president of the Greater Cincinnati Athletic Trainers’ Association.
 
Himmler has served as the football athletic trainer since 2016, working with teams that have won two conference championships and gone to five consecutive bowls, including the 2020 Peach Bowl and 2021 Cotton Bowl Classic at the College Football Playoff.
 
His day-to-day responsibilities include management, treatment and prevention of all football student-athlete injuries and illnesses as well as the operation of the sports medicine center on the second floor of the Lindner Center.
 
He started at UC by serving as the athletic trainer with the baseball team from 2013-15.
 
Himmler served as the head athletic trainer for Beechwood High School in Fort Mitchell, Ky., from 2008-13. Additionally, he was the head athletic trainer at Athens (Ohio) High School in 2008 as he completed his master’s degree in athletic training from Ohio University.
 
A 2007 graduate of Eastern Kentucky, Himmler and his wife, Marisa, have three children, Charlie, Michael and Isabella, and live in Fort Mitchell, Ky.
