CINCINNATI---A trio of University of Cincinnati baseball players will be back in the Queen City this week as senior Tony Campana, sophomore Kevin Johnson and junior Cameron Satterwhite have been selected to play in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star Game. The event will take place at the Western Hills High School field on Wednesday night (July 11) with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m.

All three players have enjoyed outstanding performances in the first half of the summer. Johnson and Satterwhite will team up as members of the Blue team for the game, taking on Campana's Red team. For those unable to attend the event, the Great Lakes League Official website (www.greatlakesleague.org) will offer free streaming of the event.

Campana (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) is playing this summer for the Southern Ohio Copperheads, based at Ohio University in Athens. He is hitting .313 in the wooden bat league and ranks among the league leaders in stolen bases (2nd, 15), runs (T-3rd, 18), triples (T-4th, 2) and hits (T-7th, 25). During his first year at UC this spring, Campana was a second team all-region and all-BIG EAST selection after stealing a UC single-season record 60 bases.

Johnson (Willard, Ohio/Willard) is a member of the Stark County Terriers and made the all-star game as a first baseman. This summer, Johnson holds a .383 batting average with two doubles, one triple and five RBI. He has also appeared in seven games on the mound, spanning 15.2 innings with a 4.02 ERA. As a first-year Bearcat, Johnson started 11 games in the field and made nine appearances on the mound. In just 49 at-bats, Johnson finished with three doubles, one home run and eight RBI. On the hill, he struck out 11 in 10.1 innings of work.

Satterwhite (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) is with the Delaware Cows for the summer season. He ranks third in the GLSCL with 16 walks and is sixth with 16 RBI. The Indiana transfer has a batting average of .253 with five doubles, one triple and one home run. In his first season at UC, Satterwhite hit nine home runs and added 33 RBI in 52 games.
