All-Great Lakes League Teams

Brian Garman

Cameron Satterwhite

CINCINNATI---The end of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League's regular season brought with it the unveiling of the all-league team and the University of Cincinnati was well represented with three selections, including a pair of first team honorees. Senior Tony Campana and junior Cameron Satterwhite were both tabbed to the first team, while sophomore left-handed pitcher Brian Garman was included on the second team.

Campana (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) put together a summer performance much like the spring season he enjoyed with the Bearcats. The speedy outfielder led the GLSCL with 24 stolen bases and ranked ninth with a .349 batting average in 34 games. Playing for the Athens-based Southern Ohio Copperheads, Campana was also listed among the league's best in hits (T-2nd, 44), runs (3rd, 27) and total bases (T-7th, 53). Campana recorded a double in the GLSCL All-Star Game earlier this summer.

Satterwhite (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller), also an outfielder, joined Campana on the first team. As a member of the Delaware Cows, Satterwhite tied for the league lead with five home runs and was second with 30 RBI. He was also ranked in the league in total bases (T-4th, 59), slugging percentage (6th, .532) and doubles (T-7th, 8). In 36 games for the Cows, Satterwhite batted .306 and hit a solo home run in the All-Star Game in July.

Garman (Wapakoneta, Ohio/Wapakoneta) led the league in strikeouts, whiffing 50 in 47.1 innings of work for the Lima Locos. For the summer, Garman finished with a 3-1 record and a 2.66 ERA in 10 appearances. The lefty ranked fourth in the league in innings pitched and held opponents to a .233 batting average.
