CINCINNATI -- Less than two weeks after making its first pitch for the 2008 baseball season, the University of Cincinnati Athletics Ticket Office is recording all-time highs for season ticket sales.

Less than two weeks after initiating prices of $20 for adults and $10 for UCATS members, senior citizens, UC faculty/staff, and youth ages 12 and under, UC season tickets for Cincinnati baseball have sold five times the number totaled during the 2007 season.

Single-game tickets for the 2008 campaign are $5 each for adults and $3 for fans 12 and under. Special pricing for groups of 10 or more are also available. Call the UC Athletics Ticket Office for more details on group sales.

UC baseball season tickets are available by phone at 1-877-CATS-TIX, or in person at the Athletics Ticket Office located on the fourth floor of the Richard E. Lindner Center. Current season ticket holders may also renew their seats through the same methods.

Loaded with local talent, the Bearcats' offense is led by 2007 NCAA stolen base champion Tony Campana (Springboro, OH/UNC Asheville) and 2007 second-team all-BIG EAST infielder Josh Harrison (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton). Lefthander Dan Osterbrock (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain), an ABCA All-Region first team pick, leads the pitching staff.

Cincinnati plays a record 34 games at Marge Schott Stadium this spring. Regional rivals Miami (Ohio), Xavier, Kentucky, and Wright State also travel to the Queen City in 2008. BIG EAST play opens on Friday, March 21 when USF comes to Cincinnati for a three-game set. Cincinnati also hosts league opponents includes USF (March 21-22), Pittsburgh (April 11-13), Georgetown (April 18-20), Rutgers (May 2-4), and West Virginia (May 15-17) during the 2008 season.

The Bearcats lead-off the 2008 season with a three-game series at Miami (Fla.) beginning on Friday, Feb. 22.
