CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati baseball team dropped the second game of its three-game series to the University of Louisville 12-7 Saturday afternoon at Marge Schott Stadium. The loss dropped UC to 13-14 overall and 2-6 in the BIG EAST, while U of L improved to 20-8 overall and 5-3 in conference action.

Senior Cameron Satterwhite (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) led the Bearcats at the plate going 2-for-5, with four RBI.

After two scoreless innings, the Cardinals crossed the plate once in the third inning to take a 1-0 lead. Jeff Arnold led off the frame with a single through the left side and then moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt. Arnold proceeded to steal third and then scored on a RBI ground out by Josh Richmond.

UC responded quickly in its half of the third as freshman T.J. Jones (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) drilled the first pitch of his at-bat over the left field wall, tying the game at 1-1. The home run was the first of Jones' career.

Following the Jones home run, UC continued its rally as sophomore Nick Rohlfs (Loveland, Ohio/Moeller) and junior Jamel Scott (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto) reached base courtesy of a single and walk. Both runners scored on a Satterwhite double, giving UC its first lead of the game, 3-1.

The Cardinals took advantage of a Bearcat error and a wild pitch to score twice in the top of the fourth, knotting the score at three.

For the second day in a row, Louisville scored seven runs in the middle innings, opening up a 10-3 lead through five and a half innings.

Louisville upped its lead to 12-3 off a two-run Chris Dominguez home run in the seventh, but senior Mike Spina (Newberry, Fla./Newberry) drilled a two-run home run for UC in the eighth, closing the deficit to 12-5.

Satterwhite drove in two more runs with two-RBI double in the ninth, but that was it as the Bearcats fell to U of L, 12-7.

Cincinnati and Louisville conclude their three-game series on Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m. Sunday's game will be televised on ESPNU, marking the first nationally-televised game in UC baseball history.
