Here's a look at what's coming up this week in Cincinnati sports:

  • The men`s basketball team will take on DePaul at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Chicago, Ill. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and broadcast on 700 WLW. The Bearcats will then host St. John's at noon Sunday, for the second meeting between the two teams this season. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Ohio/BIG EAST Network, and on the radio on 700WLW. UC is 18-5 overall and tied for ninth in the BIG EAST at 5-5.
  • The women's basketball team will host Seton Hall at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats are 8-14 overall and in 14th place in the BIG EAST at 1-9.
  • The men's golf team will start their spring portion of the season beginning Thursday with The Match Play in Lutz, Fla.
  • The women's lacrosse team will kick off the 2011 season with a game against Jacksonville at 1 p.m. Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla.
  • The women's tennis team will compete in two BIG EAST matches this week, both in Syracuse, N.Y. The Bearcats (0-5) will take on Seton Hall at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and Syracuse at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
  • The indoor track and field teams will participate in the Hoosier Hills Invitational Friday in Bloomington, Ind.

In case you missed it:

  • The men's basketball team dropped a 71-59 decision to No. 4 Pittsburgh last Saturday in Pittsburgh Pa. Larry Davis led the Bearcats with 13 points.
  • The women's basketball team fell 79-48 to Pittsburgh last Tuesday in Pittsburgh, Pa. Cincinnati went on to drop a 55-38 decision to No. 17/19 Georgetown in Washington, D.C.
  • Head football coach Butch Jones announced 24 members of the 2011 recruiting class last Wednesday, the beginning of the NCAA initial signing period for football. In addition to the 24 signees, UC announced the addition of six preferred walk-ons. According to the experts, UC has put together its best-ever recruiting class. Scout.com has the Bearcats ranked No. 37 in the country and second in the BIG EAST Conference. This marks the first time UC has cracked Scout's top 50 or been rated higher than fifth in its own league. Rivals.com has the Bearcats with a similar ranking at No. 39 out of 120 FBS schools.
  • The women's swimming and diving team won a 179-100 decision over host Wright State, Saturday at the WSU Natatorium. The Bearcats split the dual meet with the Raiders as the men's squad fell by a 138-123 margin. Liz Hansson, Roberto Nevarez, and Josefin Wede all were multiple event winners in UC's final tune up before the BIG EAST Conference Championships.
  • Jasmine Lee and Ashleigh Witte each won singles matches, but it wasn't enough as the tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision in dual tennis action at Bowling Green last Saturday. Witte also teamed with Elise Woulfe to win the No. 2 doubles match.
  • The indoor track and field team finished in 12th place - its highest finish in a national competition in program history - at the New Balance Invitational last Saturday, at the Armory Track and Field Center in Manhattan. The Bearcats, who totaled 23 points, established school records in the shot put, 500-meter dash and the 1,000-meter run, while tying another school record in the pole vault.
