Week Ahead: Baseball Hosts Louisville, Men's Golf Plays Pair

Here's a look at what's going on this week in Cincinnati sports:

• The baseball team will take on Morehead State (5-22) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Morehead, Ky. The Bearcats will then host a three-game series against No. 23 Louisville (17-9, 3-2 BIG EAST) this weekend at Marge Schott Stadium. Game one will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by game two at 4 p.m. Saturday and game three at 1 p.m. Sunday. Cincinnati is 13-12 and tied for fourth in the BIG EAST at 3-3.
• The men's golf team will compete in the Mizzou Invitational Monday and Tuesday in Columbia, Mo. They will then participate in the Bluegrass Invitational Saturday and Sunday in Lexington, Ky.
• The women's golf team will compete in the 2011 Hall of Fame Classic Monday and Tuesday in St. Augustine, Fla.
• The women's lacrosse team will take on No. 17 Georgetown (3-5) at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Washington, D.C. UC is 2-8 (0-2 BIG EAST).
• The men's soccer team will compete in the Athletes in Action Tournament on Sunday in Xenia, Ohio. The Bearcats will take on Cleveland State at 11 a.m. before playing Bowling Green at 1 p.m. Finally, they will take on Akron at 3 p.m. to wrap up the tournament.
• The women's tennis team will host Marshall (14-4) at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Trabert-Talbert Tennis Center. The Bearcats are 7-11 overall and 5-4 in BIG EAST play.
• The track team will participate in the Miami Invitational Friday and Saturday in Oxford, Ohio.
• The volleyball team will continue their spring season with a match against Michigan State Saturday in East Lansing, Mich. The time is yet to be determined.

Bearcats and the Community:

• Don't forget the renewal period for both season-ticket holders and UCATS members for the 2011 football season is open through April 22, 2011 and those that take advantage of UC's online renewal system will be eligible for a drawing that includes some great prizes.
• The women's soccer team will hold a free youth clinic prior to the Toledo spring game on Friday at Gettler Stadium. The clinic will run from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. with registration slated to begin at 4:45 p.m. The clinic is open to kids aged 6-13. It will feature a variety of stations including ladder, shooting, passing, dribbling, and heading areas. Fans of all ages are encouraged to join in the event, but space is limited so participants are encouraged to arrive early and bring a ball and water bottle.

In case you missed it:

• The baseball team fell to Dayton last Wednesday, 4-3, at Marge Schott Stadium. The Bearcats went on to sweep Georgetown last weekend in Bethesda, Md. Cincinnati defeated the Hoyas 3-1 on Friday, 5-3 on Saturday, and finished with a 3-2 10-inning win last Sunday.
• The women's lacrosse team dropped at 17-3 decision to Loyola last Friday at Nippert Stadium.
• The women's soccer team was victorious in its spring opener over Tennessee on Sunday at Gettler Stadium.
• The women's tennis team defeated Xavier, 5-2, last Sunday. Ashleigh Witte and Safiyya Ismail each won singles and doubles matches to lead UC.
• The track and field teams wrapped up two days of competition Saturday at Gettler Stadium in the Oliver Nikoloff Open track and field meet. Over course of the meet, two UC school records fell and both the men's and women's squads claimed the team titles.
