LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams wrap up regular-season outdoor action Friday at the Cardinal Twilight at Cardinal Park Track and Soccer Stadium.

The meet will serve as one final opportunity for Bearcats to record a NCAA qualifying mark. The top 48 marks from the east and west regions qualify for NCAA First Round meets May 26-28.

UC has several athletes who have seemingly secured a bid to the east regional meet in Bloomington, Ind.

On the men's team, junior Terrence Somerville currently sits at No. 2 in east region in the 110-meter hurdle event after recording a conference record time of 13.44 seconds last week at the BIG EAST Championships. Junior Eric Finan ranks 10th and 16th in the 5K and 10K runs with school-record marks of 13:49.80 and 29:37.29, respectively.

Freshman Josh Dangel owns the 26th best pole vault mark in the east after recording a mark of 16 feet, 8.75 inches at the Polytan Invitational. His teammate, junior Tommy Marks, is 37th with a mark of 16 feet, 6.75 inches, set at the Miami Invitational.

A handful of Bearcats sit outside of the top 48 and will need stellar performances at the Cardinal Twilight. Seniors Troy Cooper, who ranks 53rd in the shot put, and David Barry, who ranks 54th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, are the closest Bearcats outside the top 48.

The women's team also has a multitude of athletes entrenched in the east region's top 48.

Senior sprinter Natasha Burse ranks 26th and 20th in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, with marks of 11.53 and 23.54 seconds, respectively.

Aricka Rhodes in the 400 and Kathy Klump in the 800 are entrenched in the top 48 as well. Rhodes' mark of 53.82 currently sits at No. 17, while Klump's time of 2:07.15 is good for a No. 24 ranking.

Cincinnati has three pole vaulters poised to compete in Bloomington, with Mackenzie Fields (ninth), Michelle Eby (13th) and Sarah Rasnick (29th) currently in the top 30.

Additionally, the UC women 4x100 (37th) and 4x400 (14th) teams are in solid position to run next week.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Paris Campbell will have wait and see the final results on Sunday to find out if her current mark of 13.75 seconds, which sits at No. 46, will stand.
