CINCINNATI
 -- The University of Cincinnati baseball team goes back on the road this week to Memphis, Tennessee, for a 3-game series against the University of Memphis. The games will be played on Friday, May 1 (7:30 p.m. ET), Saturday, May 2 (3 p.m. ET) and Sunday, May 3 (2 p.m. ET).

The Tigers are the only repeat opponent for the Bearcats this season. Cincinnati won the first series April 10-12 on a series-clinching walk-off double by junior Devin Wenzel in the 12th inning of the final game.

// UC vs. MEMPHIS
     - Cincinnati and Memphis have matched up 89 times before with the Tigers holding a 57-32 advantage in the series.
     - The Bearcats took two of three games earlier this season in a series played at Marge Schott Stadium April 10-12.
     - Cincinnati won 6-2 in the opening game behind two hits, two runs and three RBIs from Treg Haberkorn and two hits, two runs and an RBI from Woody Wallace.
     - Memphis hit three homeruns in an 8-3 victory in game two.
     - Devin Wenzel hit a walk-off double in the third game, giving UC an 8-7 lead. Ian Happ was a perfect 5-for-5 on the day with two homeruns, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
     - The series between the Bearcats and the Tigers began in 1962 with a pair of losses for Cincinnati on April 18. 

// SCOUTING THE TIGERS
     - The Tigers enter the weekend with a 29-13 overall record and a 9-6 mark in conference play to lead the American Athletic Conference.
     - Memphis' only series loss on the season came at the hands of the Bearcats when UC won two of three games April 10-12 at Marge Schott Stadium.
     - Memphis has won six of its last seven games, including conference victories over USF (two) and UConn (two).
     - Kane Barrow leads the Tigers with a .355 batting average, and 61 hits.
     - Tucker Tubbs, who hit four homeruns during the last series against the Bearcats, has hit 12 on the season to rank second in the American.
     - Five players have recorded at least 40 hits on the season, including Barrow, Tucker Tubbs (52), Darien Tubbs (52), Zach Schritenthal (42) and Brandon Montgomery (42).
     - Connor Alexander leads the pitching staff with a 2.18 ERA in 11 appearances and eight starts.
     - Dylan Toscano is the strikeout leader of the staff, sitting down 51 batters on the year. 

// WATCHING WALLACE
     - Junior catcher Woody Wallace was added to the watch list for the 2015 Johnny Bench Award on Tuesday, April 13.
     - The award is designed to recognize the nation's top collegiate catcher based on athletic ability, sportsmanship and leadership.
     - Wallace currently ranks third on the team with a .268 batting average and has recorded 30 hits with 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
     - He hit his first homerun of the season on Wednesday, April 15 - a solo shot in a loss to Wright State.
     - He played 121 consecutive innings behind the plate for the Bearcats spanning from March 14 - April 15. 
     - Additionally, the backstop has thrown out 15 runners on the base paths. 

// HITS HARBINGER
     - Hits are proving to be very telling for the University of Cincinnati baseball team during the 2015 season.
     - The Bearcats are 10-1 when recording more hits than their opponents.
     - They are just 2-27 when the opponent records more hits and 1-2 when the teams record the same number of hits.
