// Key Innings
Top of the First
Lehnen recorded a strikeout on the first batter of the game, but a costly error by the catcher allowed the runner, Laren Eustace, to reach second base with no outs. Eustace immediately stole third and scored on a bases-loaded fielder's choice to give Indiana an early 1-0 lead.
Bottom of the First
Senior Woody Wallace (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) doubled, moved to third on a groundout by Thompson and scored when Haberkorn beat out a bunt single to keep the inning alive. The play tied the game at 1-1.
Top of the Third
A walk and a hit by pitch put two Hoosiers aboard with only one out before a groundout advanced them both into scoring position. Luke Miller then sent a shot into the left field corner for a double to bring home both runners for a 3-1 IU lead.
Bottom of the Fourth
After Indiana added another two runs in the top half of the frame to grab a 5-1 lead, the Bearcats got a pair of runs back in the fourth. Noda singled, Wallace was hit and Thompson singled to load the bases before a passed ball scored Noda and advanced both runners. Haberkorn then hit a deep sacrifice fly to score Wallace from third and get UC within two runs.
