// SCOUTING THE OWLS
TU is 3-4-2 overall, 1-0 in The American, and hasn't lost a match since Sept. 12. The Owls most recently tied intra-city rival Villanova, 1-1, on Wednesday in a match that was called after only 70:05 of game action due to a severe weather. Prior, Temple blanked UCF, 1-0, in both teams' league openers. Lukas Fernandes scored goals in both of the matches and has a team-high three on the season. Jalen Campbell has an Owls-best two assists in 2018. Goalkeeper Simon Lefebvre has 27 saves on the year with two shutouts. In the preseason, Temple was picked to finish sixth in the AAC.

// TEMPLE SERIES
The Bearcats trail the Owls in the all-time series, 3-4-0, but are 3-0-0 in matches played in Cincinnati. UC fell short, 2-1, against TU in Philadelphia last season, but previously dominated the Owls, 4-0, in 2016 at Gettler Stadium. Daniel Oginni (Mississauga, Ontario/King's Christian Collegiate) and Ryan Melink (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) both scored in the victory.

// LAST TIME OUT
UC (2-7, 0-1 AAC)  got a much-needed spark on Wednesday when junior transfer forward Rex Epps (Irmo, S.C./Dutch Fork/Army West Point) – in his second game as a Bearcat and first at Gettler Stadium – scored a pair of first-half goals and tallied an assist to lead his team to a 3-1 win over IUPUI. Epps – in his first-career start -- scored in both the second and 10th minutes and also had a hand in UC's third score of the night with a helper on an Austin Smythe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day/Radford) goal during the 23rd minute. For the match, UC totaled 17 shots – including five on goal – and attempted a pair of corner kicks.

// EPPS EFFECT
After recording a team-best three shots on goal in 46 minutes of play at Memphis on Sunday, the newcomer followed with five total points in leading UC to victory against IUPUI on Wednesday in his Gettler Stadium debut. The junior forward transferred to UC after two years at Army West Point. At Army, Epps led the Black Knights in goals (8), points (20) and shots (61), en route to 2017 All-Patriot League Second Team and Second Team All-Northeast Region honors as a sophomore. As a freshman, he led Army with 22 points, 11 goals, and five game-winning goals, garnering College Soccer News All-Freshman Third Team and All-Patriot League Third Team accolades. Epps is an Army veteran who will participate in the Army ROTC at UC.
