CINCINNATI - Rylee Penn (women's 800m) and Marcus Abraham (men's shot put) each rose to #2 all-time in program history while Albert Kalala (men's high jump) and Sam Meece (men's shot put) also moved into the Top 10 to lead the University of Cincinnati track & field program collected outstanding marks for the second day in a row at a pair of meets. The women's 4x400m relay joined Penn with fast times at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tenn., while the 4x800m relay added a Top 10 mark to the three individual men on the final day of action at the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.

// PENN OPENS FAST
Penn made the most of her debut in the 800m as the California rookie raced to a time of 2:11.16 to finish sixth in a very competitive and fast race at the Vanderbilt meet. Penn, placed in the top heat of the race, finished second among freshmen in the competition with her time ranking as an indoor life-time PR and the second-fastest indoor mark in program history. In fact, the only woman to run faster indoors at UC is Kathy Klump, who ran 2:04.39 in 2012 as a senior. Penn is now only the fourth UC woman to run under 2:12 in the indoor event in program history and the second to do so in as many years after Alexis Anton ran 2:11.34 last year a senior.

// KALALA KLIMBING
The first man to post an individual all-time Top 10 mark on the day was Kalala, who cleared 2.10m (6-10.75) to finish as the runner-up in the high jump in Indiana. Kalala, who entered with a best of 2.06m (6-09.00), improved his collegiate indoor PR by 1.75" and also joined the program's all-time Top 10 as he is one of four men tied for eighth at 2.10m, a group that includes Ryan Beltz (2008), Ron Quercioli (1996) and Chris Bean (1986).

// STRONG THROWS
The final two individual men moving up the all-time Top 10 ledger came in the shot put at the Gladstein meet as Abraham and Meece moved up higher once again. Abraham placed second overall in the competition with a big toss of 17.67m (57-11.75) to work his way up to #2 all-time at UC while Meece moved up to #7 overall as he was third on the day with a heave of 16.56m (54-04.00). Abraham's mark makes him just the second man to throw 57' or better at UC. In the same event, Aaron Deaton recorded a season-best toss of 16.39m (53-09.25) to finish fifth and Damien Berthenet tossed a PR mark of 13.81m (45-03.75) to place seventh.

// RELAY RANKINGS
Two relays turned in an all-time Top 10 mark in their competitions, including the women's 4x400m relay at the Vanderbilt meet and the men's 4x800m relay at the Indiana competition. The men raced first with the team of Aaron Bienenfeld, Michael Vitucci, Jase Headings and Matt Stump combining to run 7:41.25 to claim the #2 spot all-time at UC. Their time also just missed the school record of 7:41.25 that was run in 2004 and is just the third time UC has added a 4x800m mark to the Top 10 list since 1993 (#1 in 2004, #2 today, #3 in 2007).

On the women's side, the Bearcats ran 3:44.08 to finish fourth overall and moved into a tie for the #7 slot in program history. The team was comprised of Tiona Lattimore, Haisha Bisiolu, Caisja Chandler and Kylie Cutlip. While Chandler and Cutlip had their names added to the relay Top 10 for the first time as freshman, the duo of Lattimore () and Bisiolu () are now part of four of the Top 7 relays in program history, placing them on the teams that are #1, #2, #4 and #7. In fact, looking at the updated Top 10, six of those times have been recorded since the start of the 2016 season.

// STAYING ON TOP
Despite not posting one of her best marks, Loretta Blaut continued to do what it takes to win as she captured the high jump at in Indiana, her second victory of the year with both coming inside the IU facility. The top collegiate finisher last week in Kentucky behind only one professional competitor, the two-time AAC Female Field Athlete of the Week cleared 1.72m (5-07.75) to claim the win. In the same event, Katie Kravitsky cleared 1.62m (5-03.75) to tie for third and post a PR in the process.

// IMPROVEMENTS - WOMEN
In Indiana, Naomi Urbano ran 1:38.69 to finish third in the 600m run and lower her all-time best by 2.22 seconds while Angelica Lightfoot posted a time of 1:50.53 in the same event for a PR. Also in Bloomington, Katie Straus jumped to a mark of 5.23m (17-02.00) for a PR in the long jump. The final two PRs came in distance races in Nashville with Leah Maschino running a PR in the mile at 5:11.72 while Samantha Simms ran 10:22.82 in the 3,000m to post a PR of 30.36 seconds (10:53.18).

// IMPROVEMENTS - MEN
Two more men added PRs on the day with both coming in the prelims of the 60m dash at the Gladstein meet. In the race, Arthur Greenlee ran 7.12 and Connor Duricky 7.29 to post their improvements. Mykel Chambers was the top UC finisher in the race with a time of 6.94 (18th) while Isaiah McCall ran 7.05 for a season best. Greenlee nearly added another PR as he ran 8.05 in the final of the 60m hurdles, missing his PR by 0.01 seconds.
