CHANDLER CRUISING
After climbing higher in the 60m record book last week, Caisja Chandler got back to work tonight in Indiana as she won the 200m with a time of 23.52 to tie her personal-best and own school record that she ran last year as a freshman. Chandler also took part in the 60m today and ran 7.44 to qualify fourth to the final. She is just 0.03 off her PR in the short sprint she ran last week in Kentucky.

// SPEEDY BORZOR
Chris Borzor made his season debut in the 200m Friday and wasted no time picking up where he left off last year as the sophomore blazed a time of 21.42 to finish second on the day. His time stands as the #3 mark in program history and makes him just the third man in program history to run under 21.50 in the 200m dash indoors. He just missed the #2 time that Chris Watkins recorded in 1994 when he ran 21.41.

//
BEARD FINDING HER HOPS
For the second week in a row, freshman Taylor Beard took part in the high jump and, for the second week in a row, cleared 1.69m (5-06.50). Her clearance, which placed her fourth on the day, tied her for #10 all-time in program history

// MULTIS OFF TO STRONG START
Jeremy Hayton and Cannon Riddle sit 1-2 after the first day of action in the men's heptathlon following a strong opening day. Hayton, competing in his first heptathlon, scored 2,886 points Friday to post the #5 score in program history while Riddle scored 2,782 points to move up to #8 on the all-time Top 10.

Hayton won the 60m dash in a PR 7.26 to rank #6 on UC's heptathlon Top 10 list before placing second in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 6.34m (20-09.75). He came back in the shot put and tied for second with a best of 11.92m (39-01.25), posting the #6 mark in the program's heptathlon Top 10 before closing the day with a win in the high jump with a clearance of 2.03m (6-08.00), the #2 mark in UC heptathlon history.

Riddle also had a strong day as he ran 7.28 in the 60m dash for a PR and the #7 time in UC heptathlon history before going on to win the long jump with a best of 6.43m (21-01.25). Following a toss of 10.43m (34-02.75) in the shot put before finishing with a clearance of 2.00m (6-06.75) for the #3 UC heptathlon mark all-time. Additionally, the clearances of both Hayton and Riddle in the high jump mark just the second and third times, respectively, that a UC man has cleared 2.00m or better in a heptathlon competition.

// ANOTHER VICTORY
Chandler was not the only victorious Bearcat on the day. In the seeded section of the men's mile, Toni Banos raced to a personal-best time of 4:13.35 to win the event. He was just over two seconds off the program's all-time Top 10 list as well.

// MOVING ON
The 60m dash and 60m hurdles each contests preliminary rounds today with the Top 9 earning berths into the Saturday final. Along with Chandler in the 60m, two other women and two men punched their tickets to their respective finals as well. In the women's 60m hurdles, Victoria Abunaw and Angelica Lightfoot finished third and fourth, respectively, in the prelims as the duo raced to times of 8.63 and 8.77, respectively. On the men's side, Anthony Woods is moving on in the 60m as he ran 6.80 in the prelims to not only sit fifth in the field, but also moved up to #4 all-time in UC history. Connor Duricky will race in the final of the 60m hurdles as the #1 seed after posting the fastest qualifying time of 8.19.
