TicketsCINCINNATI – Carlos Kouassi won the triple and jump as the University of Cincinnati track and field team finished off a weekend at the South Carolina Invitational.
Kouassi topped the field with a jump of 15.51m (50-10.75). The freshman already ranked second in the American Athletic Conference with his effort of 15.54m (51-00.00) a week ago in Houston.
Caisja Chandler, the reigning American Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week, posted season-best marks in the 60m dash and 200m, placing third in both events against strong competition. Chandler bettered her times from a week ago, clocking 7.42 in the 60 and 23.62 in the 200.
PODIUM FINISHES
• Kennedy Marable was third in the triple jump, leaping 12.25m (40-02.25).
• Malin Smith placed third in the shot put with a best heave of 16.17m (53-00.75).
