TicketsDALLAS, TX – The University of Cincinnati tennis team fell on the road in its second American Athletic Conference matchup of the week in Dallas, Texas. Cincinnati (2-7, 0-3 AAC) dropped the early doubles point after a late rally by the doubles teams came up shy. SMU (11-7, 4-0 AAC) kept the pressure on the Bearcats, taking five of the six singles points in two set sweeps and the 6-1 match victory.
THE BREAKDOWN
Alexia Coutino withstood a last-minute surge by SMU's Avery Hilbig in the first set securing a 7,2 (3) victory. Coutino's momentum flowed into the second set where she was able to stunt Hilbig in a 6-3 two set sweep. This hard-fought victory was the Bearcats only point of the day and Coutino's first of the season.
Maria Santilli saw her fair share of action against SMU, posting the longest match of the day. Santilli fought through the first set where she fell just short after a 7-6(4) victory in the Mustangs favor awarded Huth a one-point advantage. The singles match wrapped up after a 6-3 second set victory by Huth concluded the match for the Bearcats.

"Like Tuesday, there were a lot of positives from today, but SMU just had a little too much for us. They really have a tough team. We've had really good tests this week to prepare for Sunday. It will be another very tough match and we'll have to be competing at our very best to get it done."
