TicketsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati tennis team lost to Purdue in the first match of the 2022 season on the road 5-2 at the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Ioana Guna (0-1, 1-0) won her match at No. 2 singles while Maria Santilli (1-0) picked up a win in the No. 4 singles spot.
HEAD COACH ERIC TOTH FOLLOWING THE MATCH
"Outside of the final score, I thought we really competed well and played a solid match for our first time out. Doubles was pretty tightly contested and in matches where we lost in singles we were outplayed a bit for the most part. Purdue has a nice squad this season and they did a good job finishing the match off early before it could get too interesting. We'll build off this and prepare for a good Louisville team on Friday. Another opportunity awaits us."
