Bearcats Finish Gladstein Invitational with Six Wins

The University of Cincinnati Track and Field teams have finished up a weekend of competition at the Gladstein Invitational, bringing home six first-place finishes and multiple marks in UC top-ten lists.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati Track and Field teams finished a weekend of competition at the Gladstein Invitational with six first-place finishes and multiple new marks in the UC top-ten list.    
 
The women's team finished the meet with two first place finishes in the long jump and triple jump.  The men's team won the weight throw, long jump, 400m dash and 60m hurdles.
 
PERFORMANCES OF NOTE
Women's Long Jump:
The Bearcats swept the long jump in Bloomington with Anaya Dees topping the podium in the event for the third time this season.  She jumped 5.78m, breaking into the UC top ten individuals all-time at the number ten spot.  Dees was followed by Juliet McGregor who jumped 5.61m and Nadia Collins with a 5.60m jump.

Women's Triple Jump: Kennedy Marable claimed the top spot in the women's triple jump with a jump of 12.96 meter, which is only .01 meter off from her own personal best and is now the seventh best triple jump mark in UC history. Anaya Dees took second in the event with a personal best jump of 12.66 meters. 

Women's High Jump:
Annnika Kinley took second in the women's high jump with a jump of 1.74m (5'-08.5").  This mark puts her sixth in the Bearcats' record book and stands as her new collegiate best.
 
Men's 400m Dash:
Steven McElroy got his first win as a Bearcat in the 400m dash tonight with a time of 47.92.  McElroy is closing in on the freshman record in the 400 meters, which is 46.49. 
 
Men's 60m Hurdles:
Brandon Johnson was the second freshman to earn his first win as a Bearcat tonight when he took first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.10, a new personal best. 
 
Men's Weight Throw:
Sam Meece continued to dominate in the weight throw this season, winning the 35-pound weight throw at the Gladstein Invitational with a throw of 18.89m. 
 
Men's Long Jump:
Austin Edwards took first place in the long jump at the Gladstein invitational with a jump of 7.52m (24'-08.25").  This is his second win in the long jump this season.
