Bloomington, Ind. – Day one of the Gladstein Invitational has officially concluded with multiple podium finishes, personal bests, and first-place finishes for the UC Track and Field team.
PERFORMANCES TO NOTE
Women's Triple Jump: Kennedy Marable earned the Bearcats' first win of the meet, claiming first in the women's triple jump with a jump of 12.96m. This mark is only .01m off from her own personal best and is the seventh best triple jump mark in UC history. Anaya Dees took second in the event with a personal best of 12.66m.
Men's 400m Dash:
Steven McElroy got his first win as a Bearcat in the 400m dash tonight with a time of 47.92. McElroy is closing in on the freshman record in the 400m of 46.49.
Men's 60m Hurdles:
Brandon Johnson was the second freshman to earn his first win as a Bearcat tonight when he took first in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.10, a new personal best.
Men's Weight Throw:
Sam Meece continued his domination in the weight throw this season, winning the 35lb weight throw at the Gladstein Invitational with a throw of 18.89m.
TOMORROW
Finals with Cincinnati athletes in competition will be the shot put, high jump, long jump, 200m dash, men's 600m dash and women's 800m dash.
