Track and Field Competing in Two Meets this Weekend

The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams will send athletes to compete in Bryan-College Station, Texas and Winston-Salem, N.C. this weekend.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams will send athletes to compete in Bryan-College Station, Texas and Winston-Salem, N.C. this weekend. 
 
Texas A&M University will be hosting the Charlie Thomas Invitational for athletes from every squad. Senior Ellie Leather will be competing at the Camel City Invitational, hosted by JDL Sports. This meet is an invite-only meet for a field of elite pro and collegiate athletes where Leather will get the chance to improve her time and national ranking in the mile.
 
// MEET SCHEDULES
Charlie Thomas Invitational: ALL TIMES IN CST - Cincinnati athletes will first compete at 2:45 p.m. CST on Friday in the men's pentathlon. The meet will conclude on Friday shortly after 6:30 p.m. CST. On Saturday morning the meet will resume at 10:30 a.m. CST with Cincinnati athletes beginning to compete at 12:00 p.m. CST in the women's long jump. A full meet schedule is available HERE.
 
Camel City Invitational: The meet will be begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. EST. Leather competes in the mile run at 3:08 p.m. A full meet schedule is available HERE.

Charlie Thomas Invitational: Live results are available HERE.  Saturday's portion of the meet will be broadcast on the SEC network beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST.

// WHERE WE LEFT OFF
Athletes from the UC Track and Field team last competed in indoor competition at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational last weekend.  On the men's side, juniors Chris Borzor and Tyler Wirth won the 200m dash and 3000m run respectively. Freshman Steven McElroy took second to Borzor in the 200m dash with a new personal best and junior Austin Goolsby took second in the pole vault with another personal best. On the women's side, Leather won the mile run with a new school record and personal best and junior Caisja Chandler took second in the 200m dash, an event in which she currently holds the school record.

UC will be facing American Athletic Conference opponents Houston and UCF for the first time this season. All the aforementioned athletes will be competing in the same events this weekend with hopes to better their times. Full competition rosters are listed below:
