CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete at the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama.
This is the first AAC Indoor Championships in two years as the 2021 meet was cancelled due to COVID-19.
// MEET SCHEDULE
ALL TIMES IN CST – Competition begins on Friday at 9:00 a.m. with the women's pentathlon, starting with the 60 meter hurdles. Competition will conclude shortly after 5:20 p.m. with the men's distance medley relay. On Saturday morning the meet will resume at 9:00 a.m. with the men's heptathlon 60 meter hurdles. Competition will conclude at 2:50 p.m. with the men's 4x400 meter relay followed by an awards ceremony at 3:20 p.m. A full meet schedule with all meet information is available HERE.

The Bearcats track and field teams last competed at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tenn. Senior Ellie Leather and sophomore Tyler Wirth broke the women's and men's mile school records at the meet. The men's distance medley relay last competed at the JDL DMR invitational where the team of Wirth, Chris Borzor, Jonathan Harley and Siro Pina Cardona broke the school record in the DMR.
The last AAC Indoor Championship meet was held in 2020. The Bearcats' current reigning conference champions from the 2021 outdoor season competing this weekend include Leather in the 1500m and 800m run, senior Cannon Riddle in the decathlon and senior Austin Edwards in the long jump. Damien Berthenet will be returning to compete in the men's heptathlon for the first time since the 2021 National Championship meet, where he competed in the decathlon.

Head coach Susan Seaton is hopeful for multiple conference champions on each squad. Another goal for the meet is to have as many athletes as possible come home with a new personal best in their events. The team is hoping to improve their best combined team finish with a top-two team finish for both the men and women. The athletes competing are listed below:
