CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams are ready for their weekend trip to Birmingham, Ala., for the 2023 American Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The AAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala. Day one of the two-day conference championships will begin Friday, Feb. 24 and end Saturday, Feb. 25. Each day will hold a different number and type of events and the complete schedule of events and start times is attached above.

Live track and field results will be available on the AAC Indoor Track and Field Championship Central page. The meet will be timed by Xpress Timing and the link for the live results page can be found above. Final results will also be posted to the Track and Field Championship Central page and GoBearcats.com following the conclusion of the meet.
TICKETS
For those wishing to attend the 2023 AAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, there is no admissions fee to attend the meet.

// BEARCATS IN THE RANKINGS
Entering the AAC Championships, the Bearcats have three athletes ranked inside the top-15 in the nation and lead the conference in eight events. In the USTFCCCA latest conference rankings, the Bearcat men sit atop the conference while the women sit in second. Nationally speaking, the women rank 33rd and the men rank 45th.
In the latest USTFCCCA event squad rankings, the Bearcats have two event squads ranked inside the top-5 nationally, the women's high jump (2nd) and men's shot put (4th).
Th women's high jump squad holds the top three spots in the conference. Senior Taylor Beard leads the conference and ranks third nationally with her school record mark of 1.88m/6'2". Sophomore Annika Kinley holds a clearance of 1.85m/6'1", which is second in the conference and 12th in the nation, while sophomore Spirit Morgan has cleared 1.82m/5'11", ranking her third in the conference and 25th nationally.
The dynamic pair of French senior Fred Moudani and junior Giovanni Gutierrez lead the men's shot put group by holding the top two spots in the conference.
Moudani's best performance of the season came when he broke the French national indoor, AAC and Cincinnati shot put records with a throw of 20.51 meters at the Doc Hale Meet on Feb. 4. Moundani's mark leads the conference and ranks second in the NCAA in his first season at Cincinnati, only behind Arizona's Jordan Geist at 21.48 meters.
Not to be outdone, Gutierrez sits second in the AAC and 30th nationally in the shot put with a throw of 18.75 meters.
Senior Rylee Penn has broken two Cincinnati and AAC records this season. Penn's indoor AAC and school-record women's 3,000-meter time of 9:14.54 is 15 seconds faster than the next best time in the conference. Penn followed up that performance by breaking former Bearcat Ellie Leather's record mile with a time of 4:34.44. Penn leads the conference in both events and will have a chance to earn both conferece titles this weekend.
Sophomores Steven McElroy and Korbin Spencer each hold AAC top marks in their respective events. McElroy's UC indoor 400-meter record time of 46.44 leads the conference and is 21st nationally. Spencer's weight throw mark of 18.89m is currently the best in the AAC.
McElroy also holds the fourth-best 200-meter time in the conference with a mark of 21.33.
Senior Maddie Walker leads the conference in the women's 5,000-meter with her Cincinnati program record time of 16:19.77.
Sophomores Abby Knouff and Dominique Hall each rank second in the AAC in their respective events. Knouff ranks second in the women's pole vault with a mark of 4.22m/13'10", the third-best mark in UC history.
The multi-athlete Hall sits second in the AAC in the heptathlon with a score of 5,416 points, the fifth most in program history.
Cincinnati also leads the AAC in both the men's and women's distance medley relay. The men's DMR team of freshman Seth Elking, sophomore Jack Barchet, junior David Endres and graduate student Jamie Dailey rank first in the AAC with the third-fastest DMR time (9:52.12) in school history.
The women's DMR team of freshmen pair Gwen Stare and Sarah Madix and senior teammates Maddie Walker and Carmen Licht lead the AAC with the sixth fastest time in program history at 11:46.01.

The Cincinnati women's team has found success at the conference championships in recent years. The women's teams has finished second for the past three championships (championship canceled 2021) and is looking for their first team title since 2018.
The UC men's team is coming of their highest team finish ever at the AAC indoor championships as they placed second overall and will look for their first-ever AAC team title.
Cincinnati has earned 42 individual and two relay conference titles since joining the AAC and has claimed 114 AAC All-Conference honors. At the 2022 conference championships, the Bearcats claimed five event titles.
Since joining the AAC the Cincinnati women's high jump squad has dominated the event at the conference championship. A Bearcat claimed the conference title in eight of the last nine championships, including six straight from 2014-2019. Sophomore Annika Kinley won the title in 2022 and will have to defend her crown against team senior Taylor Beard, who currently leads the conference with a mark of 1.88 meters.
The UC women's DMR team, Steven McElroy in the 400m and Austin Edwards in the long jump, will all look to defend their 2022 conference titles.
This will be the Bearcat's last appearance at the AAC Championships as Cincinnati will move to the Big 12 next year.
