CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team fell 4-0 to Tulsa at Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Saturday.
"A very good effort from the team from start to finish," said head coach Eric Toth. "We made Tulsa earn the victory today. I feel we are playing some good tennis heading into postseason action in a couple of weeks. Our schedule has prepared us really well to play anyone. Hopefully we have a good performance or two left in us to advance in Florida."
Cincinnati concludes the regular season winners of two of its last three matches and 8-13 overall, 0-4 in the AAC.
Tulsa secured the doubles point with victories on court two and three. The Golden Hurricane claimed the early momentum by taking court three before the tandem of sophomore Elizabeth Pendergast and redshirt junior Cassie McLay pushed the point to the final position with a 6-2 win on court one. Tulsa responded with a competitive win on court two to take the doubles portion.
The Golden Hurricane maintained their momentum with three more singles wins to clinch the match.
Cincinnati opens postseason competition with the American Athletic Conference Championships from April 19-22 at UTSA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla.
