CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country programs will compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday in Norton, Ohio.

The meet is hosted by the Mid-American Conference and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and will be held at Silver Creek Metro Park. The women's 6k race will begin at 11 a.m. ET followed by the men's 10k race at 12 p.m. ET.  Fans can follow along with the action via live results.

The field consists of 31 men's teams and 33 women's teams.

Four men's teams are ranked – No. 9 Wisconsin, No. 19 Notre Dame, No. 21 Butler and No. 27 Michigan State.

Three women's teams are ranked – No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 14 Wisconsin and No. 29 Michigan State.

The Great Lakes Regional is one of nine events across the country that determine qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships. The top two teams in each region earn automatic bids to the championship, while the top four individual finishers not affiliated with qualifying teams also secure individual spots.

Teams that don't automatically qualify must await selection by the NCAA DI Cross Country Subcommittee, which awards 13 at-large team bids and two individual at-large spots. This makes a strong performance at regionals crucial for those aspiring to race for a national title.
