The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams split the weekend between the Tom Jones Invitational, hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., and the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. Both competitions kick off on Friday.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams split the weekend between the Tom Jones Invitational, hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., and the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. Both competitions kick off on Friday.
 
// TOM JONES INVITATIONAL (April 18-19)
The action kicks off Friday in Florida at 12 p.m. ET with the men's hammer throw and the women's 200m dash. On Saturday, Field events will get things started at 9 a.m. ET with running events following at 9:30 a.m. ET.
 
The Bearcats will send 32 athletes to Austin, including 17 men and 15 women.
 
// WAKE FORREST INVITATIONAL (April 18-19)
The competition begins in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Friday, with distance events kicking off at 11:50 p.m. ET.
 
Cincinnati will compete with a team of 12 athletes, consisting of eight men and four women.
 
// LAST TIME OUT
The University of Cincinnati track and field program hosted its annual home meet, the 2025 Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, at Gettler Stadium on April 4-5.
 
The Bearcats recorded seven UC all-time top 10 times and 17 event victories.
 
Graduate student Orry Willems notched the program record in the hammer throw.
 
On his sixth and final attempt, Willems unleashed an absolute missile, breaking the school record by nearly three meters with a mark of 65.16m. The Balen, Belgium native broke the record twice, claiming a distance of 64.06m on his second hurl of the day. The previous top mark was set by Sam Meece in 2019 when he had a throw of 62.30m.
 
Junior Kya Epps and graduate student Naquille Harris excelled in the 200m dash; both secured UC all-time top 10 times. Epps clocked a time of 23.14 seconds, earning first place and the third-fastest time in Cincinnati history. On the men's side, Harris crossed the finish line first, punching in a time of 21.05 seconds, the sixth fastest time in UC history.
 
In his first meet as a Bearcat, graduate student Justin Wei logged a time of 14.14 seconds in the 110m hurdles to secure first place in the event.
 
Cincinnati dominated in the discus as sophomore Sydney Foglesong and graduate student Korbin Spencer blew by the field. Folgesong won with three meters to spare, unleashing a toss of 45.79m to take home the win. On the men's side, Spencer notched a throw of 51.05m en route to the win. His mark was almost two meters further than the second-place finisher.
 
Junior Ben Fiser etched his name into program history as he recorded a top ten marks. Fiser moved to fifth with a throw of 60.78m.
 
With a hurl of 59.18m, senior Miranda Tcheutchoua moved up the UC hammer throw ranks. The Lusk, Fingal, Ireland native earned the third furthest toss in Bearcat history.
 
In the Javelin, senior Ryan Rieckmann picked up the victory after he recorded a distance of 59.71m.
