The University of Cincinnati men's and women's swimming and diving program swept Miami (OH) on Friday inside Keating Aquatic Center.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's and women's swimming and diving program swept Miami (OH) on Friday inside Keating Aquatic Center.

The women's team dominated the Redhawks, 199-101, while the men earned a 175-125 victory.

Starting off for the Bearcats, freshman Campbell Lively grabbed the win for the women’s 3-meter dive with a score of 281.55. Sophomore Ramez Diaa finished first in the men’s 3-meter dive with a score of 383.25. Junior Langely Petersen tallied two second place finishes in the 1-meter (255.98) and 3-meter dive (278.18).

Senior Joleigh Crye and Michelle Morgan led the women’s side by both claiming two event wins. Crye finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.02) and the 100-yard butterfly (56.43), while Morgan claimed the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.26) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:57.69).

On the men’s side, sophomore Conner Hogan and junior Kyle Bumgardner also secured two event wins. Hogan finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (20.37) and the 100-yard freestyle (45.65), while Bumgardner found success in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.57) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:00.43).

Cincinnati claimed victory in every relay, outpacing Miami (OH) in each relay. 

Marin De Villard, Owen Chiles, Hogan, and Bumgardner took first in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:17.36, while Ellie Schrank, Kate Mardis, Joann Adler, and Crye also claimed first in the 400-yard medley relay, finishing in 3:44.60. 

Sawyer Tapp, Luke VanDeusen, Chiles and Hogan grabbed first in the 200-yard medley relay (1:22.00), while Lindi Worrell, Schrank, Adler and Crye finished first in 1:34.49.

Up next, the Bearcats will travel to Rochester, Mi., to face Oakland and Purdue on October 31 through November 1.
