ROCHESTER, Mich. – The University of Cincinnati’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving team finished its weekend of competition at the Oakland and Purdue tri-meet at the Oakland Aquatic Center in Rochester, Mich.
The women’s led the team with a victory over Oakland, 236-117, while the men fell in a close battle, 192.5-154.5. Both men’s and women’s fell to Purdue.
The women opened the weekend with a school record swim in the 200 medley relay, as Ellie Schrank, Joleigh Crye, Kate Mardis, and Sonja Aarsvold clocked a time of 1:38.71 to set a new pool record, breaking the previous mark of 1:38.75.
On the men’s side, Ramez Diaa earned a win on the 3-meter dive with a score of 370.70, while Kyle Bumgardner placed second in the 400 IM (3:49.64). Luke VanDeusen also finished with a strong swim, grabbing third in the 200 freestyle (1:38.47).
Crye (1:00.32) and Lindi Worrell (1:01.05) led a dominant showing in the 100 breaststroke, sweeping the top two spots. Michelle Morgan placed third in the 200 freestyle (1:49.30) and in the 500 freestyle (4:51.58).
Cincinnati returns to action on November 18, traveling to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the Ohio State Invitational.
