The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving team completed competition against the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday afternoon inside Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving team completed competition against the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday afternoon inside Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.

The women were defeated 157-124, while the men fell 162-112.

Lindi Worrell led the women’s team, capturing first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.67 and finishing runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke with 2:13.56.

On the men’s team, Benson Wong led with two top-three placements grabbing second in the 200-yard (1:58.12) breaststroke and third in the 100-yard (54.10). 

The women’s and men’s teams placed second in both of the relays. Joleigh Crye, Kate Mardis, Sonja Aarsvold and Lily Jones claimed the 200-yard medley relay (1:41.04) and Worrell, Mardis, Aarsvold and Katie Jackovic took the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:33.02). Sawyer Tapp, Kyle Bumgardner, Owen Chiles and Conner Hogan secured the 200-yard medley relay (1:29.34) and Hogan, Chiles, Tapp and Luke VanDeusen captured the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:22.88).

On the diving side, Langely Petersen secured a fifth-place finish in the women’s 1-meter (258.00) and 3-meter (286.28) boards. For the men’s, Ramez Diaa matched that result, notching fifth in the 1-meter (346.35) and in the 3-meter (317.70).

Cincinnati will travel to Sarasota, Fla., to compete in the CSCAA Open Water Championships on Dec. 13, and continuing on the road to Miami for a tri-meet against the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University on Dec. 15.
