CINCINNATI – Cincinnati redshirt junior offensive lineman Evan Tengesdahl has been named a Preseason All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Tengesdahl was placed on the second team and was the only Big 12 offensive lineman to earn a spot.
The oldest All-America team in college football, the 2026 season will be the 137th edition of the Walter Camp All-America squad.
Tengesdahl was previously named a Preseason All-American by Phil Steele, On3, and Athlon Sports. His 82.8 PFF rating in 2025 was the highest among Big 12 guards and ranked sixth nationally at the position. He helped Cincinnati’s line earn recognition from the Joe Moore Award, as the Bearcats were named semifinalists for the award that annually honors the top offensive line in the country.
Tengesdahl will lead one of the nation’s top returning units in all of college football. Cincinnati’s O-Line allowed the fewest sacks (8) and tackles for loss (43) among Power Four teams in 2025 and also brings back all-conference honorees Joe Cotton and Taran Tyo.
ABOUT THE 2026 BEARCATS
Led by preseason All-America guard Evan Tengesdahl and all-conference teammates Taran Tyo and Joe Cotton, the Bearcats feature arguably the nation’s top offensive line heading into the 2026 season. They will protect transfer quarterback JC French, who takes the reins of one of the Big 12's most productive offenses. The defense will be led by linebackers and Ohio natives Antwan Peek Jr. (Cincinnati) and Jonathan Thompson (Columbus) under first-year defensive coordinator Nate Woody’s new-look scheme.
