** American Athletic Conference Champion – Triple Jump (Indoor) – 2018 **
QUICK NOTES: Returning conference champion after winning her first title in the long jump at the 2018 AAC Indoor Championships… ranks #2 all-time in UC history in both the indoor (12.88m/42-03.25) and outdoor (13.14m/43-01.50) triple jumps… also ranks #4 all-time in the indoor long jump (5.93m/19-05.50) and #2 in the outdoor long jump (6.26m/20-06.50)… 2018 Spain U23 National Champion in the long jump and runner-up in the triple jump.
2017-18 SEASONS
2018 OUT (SO): Earned all-conference honors by placing third in both the long jump and triple jump at the AAC Championships in Cincinnati… in the triple, jumped a then-PR of 12.79m (41-11.50) at the Tennessee Relays to move up to #2 all-time at UC… won both jumps at the Lyles/Wood Invitational two weeks out from the conference meet… her long jump mark was a then-PR 5.94m (19-06.00)… qualified for and competed in the triple jump at the NCAA East Preliminary Round for the first time… placed 18th overall, missing a spot to nationals by six places… over the summer, returned home to Spain and competed in a pair of national championship competitions… first, she took part in the Spain U23 event where she won the national title in the long jump and took second in the triple jump… in that meet, she jumped a PR 6.26m (20-06.50) in the long jump and a PR 13.14m (43-01.50) in the triple jump, both of which rank #2 in UC history… also took part in the Spain Senior Championships where she placed sixth nationally in the long jump and seventh in the triple jump… earned USTFCCCA All-Academic and American Athletic Conference All-Academic honors following the season.
2018 IN (SO): Won her first conference crown as she captured gold in the triple jump at the AAC Championships… won with a season-best leap of 12.65m (41-06.00)… was the third of her three triple jump wins on the year after she won at both the Notre Dame and Charlie Thomas Invitationals… recorded a season-best mark of 5.73m (18-09.75) in the long jump at the AAC meet to finish sixth and score points for the team in its first indoor conference crown.
2016-17 SEASONS
2017 OUT (FR): Finished second in the triple jump at the AAC Outdoor Championships to collect her second all-conference award of the year… finished with a best of 12.37m (40-07.00), just off her best of 12.39m (40-07.75) at the Lyles/Wood Invitational that placed her at #2 on the program’s Top 10… won the three meets on the year, including the Nikoloff Open, the All-Ohio and Lyles/Wood… added the long jump title at the All-Ohio event to sweep the horizontal jumps… posted a season-best leap of 5.85m (19-02.50) to finish 10th at the AAC meet and move up to #9 in program history.
2017 IN (FR): Earned her first all-conference honor by taking runner-up honors in the triple jump at the AAC Indoor Championships… posted a mark of 12.88m (42-03.25) in the meet to move up to #2 in program history and break the school’s freshman record… added more points to the team total by finishing fourth overall in the long jump with a season-best mark of 5.93m (19-05.50), the #4 mark in program history.
PRIOR TO UC: A 2016 graduate of Zubiri Manteo High School (Donostia, Gipuzkoa, Spain)… competed primarily for her club team, Atletico San Sebastian… two-time Spanish national champion in the triple jump and one-time Spanish indoor long jump champion… placed among the Top 3 in the long jump twice and triple jump one other time… helped the 4x100m relay team to runner-up honors… qualified to the national meet in both jumps as well as the short hurdles… holds a black belt in Judo.
