2020-21 SEASONS
2021 ITF (SR): At the South Caroline Invitational in February, Straus took 4th in the Pentathlon with 3,801 points. Straus' top event was the shot put where she finished third with a toss of 12.06m. She was also fifth in the 60m hurdles (8.80), fourth in the high jump (1.62m), eighth in the long jump (5.41m) and fifth in the 800m run (2:25.45).
2021 OTF (SR): Competing in the Heptathlon at the Tennessee Relays, Straus placed 5th in the 100m hurdles (14.36), 4th in the high jump (1.64m, 5-4.50), 3rd in the shot up (11.59m, 38-0.25), 8th in the 200m dash (26.18) on Saturday. The next day she would win the 800m with a time of 2:20.08… at the AAC championships Women’s Heptathlon, Straus broke a meet and personal record with a time of 14.05 in the 100m hurdles. She went on to also break a personal record not once - but twice - in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.70 meters. Straus finished in the top three in the 200m dash (25.65). Straus would end up placing second in the Heptathlon, a personal best 5,373 points and a personal best 2:19.38 in the 800m.
2019-20 SEASONS
2020 OTF (JR*): No season was conducted because of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
2020 ITF (JR*): Placed 4th in the multi-events for the third conference championship in a row at the American Indoor Track and Field Championships with a seasonal best performance of 3,699 points.
2018-19 SEASONS
2019 OTF (SO): Had a breakthrough meet in the heptathlon at the Tennessee Relays improving her personal best to 4,996 points and moving to #6 on the UC all-time list. Earned an 4th place finish at the American Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the heptathlon with a score of 4,990 points.
2019 ITF (SO*): Set a personal best in the pentathlon at the American Indoor Track & Field Championships which earned her the #6 spot in UC history and 4th place in the meet.
2017-18 SEASONS
2018 OUT (FR*): Scored points at her first AAC outdoor meet as she placed eighth in the heptathlon with a PR 4,554 points, a nine-point improvement over her collegiate heptathlon debut of 4,545 points at the Tennessee Relays earlier in the season… recorded PRs in four of the seven events, including the 100m hurdles (14.73), 200m (26.55), 800m (2:28.61) and high jump (1.64m/5-04.50)… her hurdles times ranks as the #6 (tie) mark in UC heptathlon history while her high jump mark is the #10 heptathlon mark… earned American Athletic Conference All-Academic honors.
2018 IN (SO): Took part in the pentathlon at the Indiana Relays, but was unable to finish the competition because of an injury and redshirted her season.
2016-17 SEASONS
2017 OUT (FR): Redshirted.
2017 IN (FR): Scored points in two events at her first AAC Indoor Championship meet, tying for fourth place in the high jump (1.61m/5-03.25) after finishing seventh in the pentathlon (3,337 points) the day before… scored a career-best 3,515 points in her collegiate pentathlon debut at the Thundering Herd Invitational where she posted four of her five event collegiate bests… ran 2:26.14 in the 800m (UC pentathlon #7), cleared 1.62m (5-03.75) in the high jump (pentathlon #7), jumped 5.15m (16-10.75) in the long jump and threw 9.68m (31-09.25) in the shot put… posted a pentathlon-best 8.94 in the 60m hurdles at the AAC meet (UC pentathlon #4)… won a pair of events on the year in open competition, including the 60m hurdles at the Hoosier Open and the high jump at the Kentucky Invitational.
PRIOR TO UC: A 2016 graduate of Kirtland High School (Kirtland, Ohio)… competed in track & field and soccer four years each for the Hornets… left KHS as the school’s record holder in the 100m hurdles (14.52), 300m hurdles (44.73) and high jump (1.65m/5-05.00)… competed at the state meet in individual events five times and on the 4x400m relay once… as a senior, took state runner-up honors in the 100m hurdles along with being fifth in the 300m hurdles, ninth in the high jump and sixth as a member of the 4x400m relay… placed sixth and ninth in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles, respectively, at the state meet as a junior… qualified to the regional meet in at least one event all four years… … academically sound, earned a spot on the Honor Roll all four years at KHS and twice earned Dean’s List accolades while taking courses at Lakeland Community College… several members of her family have competed collegiately, including sister Liz (Allegany, Track & Field), brother Tim (Lake Erie, Wrestling) and cousin Maddie Zuberer (Louisiana Tech, Soccer)… majoring in environmental engineering.
