Madalyn O'Dea Season 2018-19

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2018 graduate of Christian Academy of Louisville (Louisville, Ky.)… named the 2017-18 National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Female Athlete of the Year after a stellar senior campaign… four-time letter winner in cross country and track & field and three more in swimming… 2018 state champion at 1,600m in outdoor track… helped her teams to state titles in cross country (2017) and swimming (2016)… cross country team also was runners-up (2015) and third (2018)… in cross country, was a four-time state participant, finishing a career-best eighth as a sophomore… four-time KTCCCA All-State honoree… found her way to the podium several times on the track… along with her title as a senior in the 1,600m run, was seventh as a junior as well… in the 800m run, took eighth as a senior after taking second the previous two years… helped the 4x800m relay to fifth at state in her sophomore year before the team took fifth in her junior season… six-time regional champion… earned 11 KHSAA Academic All-State honors… comes from an athletic family with several individuals have participated in college, including her grandmother (Kathleen Thompson), who ran track, played field hockey and was on the cheerleading team at Montclair State… member and leader of numerous clubs/organizations throughout her prep career… president of the National Honors Society… selected as a Kentucky Commonwealth Ambassador by the Kentucky Secretary of State
