QUICK HITS: Holds times for two school records and the second-best time in another in just one season with the Bearcats... individually, she ranks #1 all-time in the indoor mile at 4:46.23, bettering Angie Kist’s mark of 4:49.41 that stood since 2002... also anchored the DMR to the #1 (11:28.64) and #2 (11:36.35) times in program history... earned three all-conference honors in her first two championship meets with UC, including cross country once and twice indoors, including the mile and the DMR... Qualified and ran in the 2021 NCAA National Championship XC meet.
2021-22 SEASONS
2021 XC: Leather set her own personal best in the 6k with a 20:14.1 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships where she qualified for the NCAA National Championship meet. She earned American Athletic All-Conference honors for her 10th place finish at the AAC Championship meet.
2020-21 SEASONS
2021 OTF (SR): Leather broke the all-time school record in the 1500m at the Tennessee Relays by posting a time of 4:17.30 and held four UC all-time records of her own, including the 1500m. In the distance medley relay, Leather and co. took top spot with a time of 11:27.93 which broke the previous school record by 18 seconds. At the Kentucky Open, Leather ran a personal best 4:16.73 in the 1,500m and personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:07.37. She into second all-time in the 800m in school history. At the AAC Outdoor Championships, she recorded a 4:18.64 in the 1500m (competition record) and 2:08.62 in the 800m for the top spot in both events. She qualified for the 2021 NCAA East Division preliminary round.
2021 ITF (SR): At the H-Town Speed City Series, she clocked a 4:43.32 in the women’s mile which was an event win, personal best, and meet record. She would also set a meet record in the women’s distance relay with a time of 12:00.07. She qualified for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships and ran a personal best 4:41.83 in the indoor mile, breaking her own UC record.
2021 XC (SR): At the 2021 American Conference Cross-Country Championships, Leather placed third in the 6K with a final time of 21:06.2.
2020-21: Leather posted a 9:46.07 in the 3000m at the McCravy Green Invitational, which earned her second and was a new personal best... at the H-Town Speed City Series, she clocked a 4:43.32 in the women’s mile which was an event win, personal best, and meet record. She would also set a meet record in the women’s distance relay with a time of 12:00.07.... at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational at the University of Cincinnati, Leather claimed her first collegiate outdoor victory in the 500m crossing the line at 16:40.28, which was also a UC individual record... Leather broke the all-time school record in the 1500m at the Tennessee Relays by posting a time of 4:17.30 and held four UC all-time records of her own, including the 1500m. In the distance medley relay, Leather and co. took top spot with a time of 11:27.93 which broke the previous school record by 18 seconds.... she took second place in the 800m at the Clark Wood Invitational with a personal best time of 2:08.19 and good for second all-time in school history.... at the Kentucky Open, Leather took gold in the 1500m (4:16.73) and in the 800m (2:07.37) and moved her into second all-time in the 800m in school history.... Leather qualified for the 1500m at the AAC championships with a 4:25.96 and later qualified to the 800m finals with a 2:08.12. She would win both of these events, she recorded a 4:18.64 in the 1500m (competition record) and 2:08.62 in the 800m for gold in these events. She would later place 8th in the 5000m race with a 17:13.51. Leather was the highest scoring Bearcat on the weekend.... At the NCAA East Prelim, she clocked a 4:26.11 in the 1500m which was good for 37th.
2019-20 SEASONS
2020 OTF (JR): No season was conducted because of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
2020 ITF (JR): Posted personal-best times in three events on the year, including the school record in the mile as she ran 4:46.23 at the Music City Challenge, breaking the mark that had stood since 2002... ran the top time in the prelims of the mile at the AAC Championships before taking third overall to earn all-conference accolades for the first time in her collegiate track career... rank a best of 2:14.22 in the 800m at the Music City Challenge as well... raced the 3,000m event once, posting a PR 10:03.73 at the Indiana Relays... twice raced on the DMR, running the anchor leg both times, to help the team post the Top 2 times in program history... the team of Maddie Walker, Carmen Licht, Sydney Kilgore and Leather combined to run 11:36.35 at the Charlie Thomas Invitational to finish third and post the then-school record... the team of Sam Mikula, Licht, Kilgore and Leather then combined to run 11:28.64 to take second at the AAC Championships, breaking the school record and earning all-conference honors.
2019 XC (JR): Toed the starting line six times for the Bearcats in her debut season, finishing five times... opened her season placing fifth overall at the Queen City Invitational (18:04.7) before taking second overall in 17:38.1 at the Friendship Invitational behind teammate Hannah Markel... led the team with her third-place showing at the Rhodes Invitational (21:30.2)... earned AAC All-Conference honors by placing 11th overall in 21:01.7... finished 52nd at the NCAA Great Lakes Region meet in 21:25.6.
FRESNO STATE: Competed for the Bulldogs for two years before transferring to Cincinnati... reached the finals of the Mountain West Championships in a pair of events, including the indoor mile and outdoor 1,500m, during the 2019 season... placed fifth outdoors to score for the team at the conference meet... ran both of her outdoor personal-best times on the same day at the Steve Scott Invitational, clocking 2:09.19 in the 800m and 4:27.62 in the 1,500m.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2017 graduate of North Bristol Sixth Form (Bristol, England)... competed in the Avon League where she was a four-time champion in the 1,500m on the track and a three-time cross country champion... competed in several English school championships, finishing as high as 19th at the 2016 cross country championships... related to running royalty as her great aunt, Diane Leather, was the first woman ever to run a sub-5 minute mile (May 29, 1954), running 4:59.6.
