LEXINGTON, KY. – The University of Cincinnati track and field program closed out the Kentucky Open by claiming gold in six events and earning an additional 10 podium finishes down in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday.
DOUBLE GOLD FOR LEATHER
Ellie Leather continues an already impressive season by earning gold in both the 1,500 meter run and the 800 meter run. Leather broke her own UC record in the 1,500 meter with her final time of 4:16.73. Leather also moved into the UC 2nd all-time spot with her 800m time of 2:07.37
TOP SPOTS
On the women's side, Caisja Chandler soard into first place in the 100 meter dash with a final time of 11.33, tying her second best all-time from 2019. Kennedy Marable then jumped into the top spot in the women's triple jump in her third attempt. She landed at 12.32 (40-5), with teammate Anaya Dees earning third place with a jump of 11.96 (39-3).
On the men's side, Isaiah McCall finished in the top spot of the 110 meter hurdles by finishing with a time of 14.10, moving him into the ninth spot for individual UC times in the event. Julius Hild finished the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 8:55.94, moving him up into the fifth spot for individual UC times and 12th on the UC all-time list.

The Bearcats head to Tampa, Florida May 14th-16th for the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
