Curtsinger, Towne Lead Cincinnati at the Bradley Pink Classic

Junior Claire Curtsinger and freshman Lucas Towne led the University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country teams at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday.

PEORIA, Ill. – Junior Claire Curtsinger and freshman Lucas Towne led the University of Cincinnati men's and women's cross country teams at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday.

The UC men's team placed ninth overall, scoring 219 points, while the women's team finished 13th overall, scoring 375 points. North Dakota State claimed the men's title, while Northwestern won the women's title.

Curtsinger finished first for Cincinnati, coming in seventh place clocking a career best time of 20:28.67. The California Ky., native has been impressive all season. She's finished first for the women in all four races, placing top 10 three times.  

Junior Gwen Stare also secured a career best time as she crossed the finish line next for the Bearcats. Stare finished 48th logging a 21:21.7 time.

The Bearcats third and fourth finishers completed the race within a second of each other. Sophomore Jocelyn Willis registered a time of 21:56.32 (96th) and freshman Christina Allen finished a second later, 21:57.86 (102nd).

Sophomore Elena Horn was the fifth scorer for the women's team as she recorded a time of 21:21.97 (140th).

On the men's side, Towne, for the first time this season finished first for the men, clocking a time of 24:05.82 (11th).

Freshman Tiger Bartlett and junior Bobby Ganser finished toe to toe next for Cincinnati. Bartlett placed 45th, clocking a time of 24:24.15, while Ganser secured a career best time of 24:34.55, notching him 46th.

Cincinnati's fourth finisher was sophomore Gianni Allwein. The Walnut Hills native notched 58th with a time of 24:39.62.

Rounding out the men's scorers were freshman Jacob Sebaugh and sophomore Thomas Ashby. Sebaugh took 117th place with a time of 25:12.20, while Ashby recorded a time of 26:31.32, finishing 230th.

The Bearcats will head to Waco, Texas to run at the Big 12 Championships. The meet is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1.
