CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving program swept the Musketeers on Friday afternoon inside Keating Aquatic Center.

The Bearcats had a standout performance against the Musketeers, with the women’s team securing a dominant 150-52 victory, and the men’s team claiming a 147-58 win.

Cincinnati tallied a total of 20 event victories. Senior Joleigh Crye led the women’s side with two individual event wins in the 50-yard freestyle (23.62) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.14), while also contributing to the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.05).

On the men’s team, Kyle Bumgardner, and Sawyer Tapp led with two individual event wins and contributed to the 200-yard medley relay victory (1:30.74). Bumgardner earned first-place in the 200-yard IM (1:52.40) and in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.08). Tapp captured first-place wins in the 100-yard backstroke (48.93) and in the 50-yard freestyle (21.03).  

For the divers, Campbell Lively claimed first-place finishes in both the 1-meter (280.43) and 3-meter (264.15) dive. On the men’s side, Noah Green also recorded first-place finishes in both the 1-meter (312.60) and 3-meter (357.90) dive.

Cincinnati honored 13 seniors in a senior ceremony including Crye, JoAnn Adler, Benson Wong, Emily Haugen, Payton Woodring, Hampton Gucky, Katie Pain, Lily Jones, Michelle Morgan, Mia Hensley, Maksim Maskalenka, Lauren Melia and Sophie Curtis.

Up next, Cincinnati will travel to Lexington to compete against the Wildcats at 5 p.m. at the Lancaster Aquatic Center on Friday Jan 30.
