CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati track and field program will hold its 38th Red-Black Intrasquad Meet Friday afternoon with the meet once again taking place inside the Armory Fieldhouse on campus. The 2018 Bearcats have been divided into two teams - Team Red and Team Black - and will compete against one another in 12 events with the weight throw leading the day off at 2:30 p.m. The first running event on the track will start at 4 p.m. with the 55m hurdles.

// FIELD EVENTS
All six indoor field events will be contested, including the weight throw, shot put, long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault. Both throws and both horizontal jumps will see each athlete receive four attempts for the competition with the men and women competing at the same time.

The field events will feature a trio of returning All-Americans for the Bearcats, including 2017 NCAA Weight Throw Champion Annette Echikunwoke (Team Red) in her signature event. Team Black's Loretta Blaut and Adrian Valles will compete in their respective events with Blaut, a three-time All-American, set to take part in the high jump while Valles, a five-time All-American and the 2017 NCAA outdoor runner-up, will enter the pole vault.

// ON THE TRACK
Six events will be contested on the short track inside Armory Fieldhouse Friday. Runners are entered into the 55m dash, 55m hurdles, 200m, 400m and 800m events with the 4x400m relay closing out the competition.

Although divided amongst the two teams, four women return to the track this week for the first time since earning All-America honors in the 4x400m relay last year, the first such honors in program history (men and women). Tiona Lattimore (55m) and Haisha Bisiolu (200m) will race for Team Red while Deanna Gesicki (400m) and Bryana Robinson (800m) will represent Team Black. All four are part of the relay pools for their respective teams and could square off in the 4x400m at the end of the meet.

// ON DECK
Following the conclusion of Friday's competition, the Bearcats will be one week out from their first official meet of the year, the Hoosier Opener. The meet will be held Friday, December 8, in Bloomington, Ind., with marks counting toward qualification to the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
