TicketsLEXINGTON, Kentucky - The University of Cincinnati track and field team finished off its first weekend of 2019 competition with some strong performances at the Jim Green Invitational at Nutter Field House in Lexington, Kentucky.
On the women's side, Irati Mitxelena had a pair of Top-5 finishes, taking second in the triple jump with a best leap of 12.42m and fifth in the long jump with her effort of 5.81m.
Haisha Bisiolu placed fifth in the 200 meters with a clocking of 24.48. She also had a 60-meter dash time of 7.66 to place 15th in the preliminary round.
Allie Plybon led four UC student-athletes among the Top-15 finishers in the pole vault. Plybon took fifth and her best leap of 3.90m was a PR, season best and tied for the No. 8 mark in Bearcats history. Brooke Catherine was seventh (3.75m), Rachel Coghill tied for ninth (3.75m) and Lily Bunse placed 15th (3.45m).
Malin Smith's toss of 15.24m in the shot put was a season-best throw, personal best and the No. 5 UC mark all time.
For the men's squad, Andre Wright had a strong showing in both he long jump and triple jump. He set the No. 3 all-time Bearcats mark with a triple jump of 15.09m. It was also a season and personal best. In the long jump, Wright leapt 7.37m, the No. 6 all-time UC mark and a season and personal best.
Arthur Greenlee IV ran 8.04 in the 60-meter hurdles final, a seventh-place clocking which ranks No. 5 all-time in the UC record book and also ranked as a season and personal best.
In the 800 meters, Michael Vitucci took fifth while Jase Headings was seventh. Both ran personal bests with Vitucci clocking 1:51.32 and Headings with a 1:51.76. Those times rank No. 4 and No. 6 all-time in the UC record book, respectively.
