RALEIGH, N.C. — Abby Sewell and Claire Curtsinger program records headlined the University of Cincinnati men's and women's track and field teams' second day of outdoor action on Friday at the Raleigh Relays.
The freshman, Sewell, flew around the track and claimed the 5000m record with a time of 16:17.72. Curtsinger bested her previous school record in the 10,000m with an incredible time of 33:45.11 for a third-place finish.
Graduate Annika Kinley and redshirt junior Macaria Moore both stood out in the women's high jump, each registering a jump of 1.77 meters to claim third place. The mark was a personal best for Moore and placed her tied for ninth all-time in the program record book.
Junior Seth Apple notched the 10th-best discus throw in program history with a toss of 51.54 meters, good for a ninth-place finish.
The Bearcats also saw two athletes clock top-five marks in program history in the 1,500 meters.
