CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati Track and Field team is headed to Louisville to compete in the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational this weekend.
A group of 50 Bearcats are headed down south for the competition hosted by the University of Louisville.
Competition runs from Thursday to Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday with the hammer throw events. Rania Brown, Sydney Foglesong, Emarie Jackson, and Miranda Tcheutchoua will kick off competition on the women’s side, while Ben Fiser, Oliver Mayer, Charlie Riddle, Tyler Thompson, and Orry Willems will compete for the men.
Friday competition begins at 9:30 a.m. with field events once again, but this time the javelin throw begins the day. DaShayla Wordlaw and Juliette Laracuente-Huebner will represent the Bearcats in this event. Running events start at 3 p.m. where a variety of Bearcats will have the opportunity to compete throughout the day.
The meet will wrap up on Saturday, with events beginning at 10 a.m. and ending around 6 p.m. for UC. Saturday’s action is highlighted by the women’s high jump event, as the previously No. 1 nationally-ranked squad of Macaria Moore, Annika Kinley, DaShayla Wordlaw, and Mallory Mullen will compete starting at 11 a.m.

Last weekend, the Bearcats competed in both the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem and the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville.
The Bearcats recorded three school records across the two events. Kya Epps began the Bearcat momentum after claiming the 200 meter record with a time of 22.71. This was good for an eighth-place finish within the Tom Jones Memorial.
At the Wake Forest Invitational, Abby Sewell and Nickson Kogei also rewrote the record books. Sewell, the freshman, blew by her previous school record in the 5,000 meter race with a time of 16:02.71. Kogei competed in the men’s 5,000 meter race, receiving a time of 13:40.07.
Across the weekend, the Bearcats recorded three school records and seven additional entries into UC all-time top 10 times.
